About the Creative Holiday Program

The Creative Holiday Program is organized by Creative Holiday for Societal Development Initiative, a Non-Governmental Organization.

The specific goal of the project is to utilize the holiday periods to help Children discover and develop their creative abilities as well as equip them with life-adaptation skills. It is also established to complement the efforts of African Governments in equipping our youths at an early stage with requisite knowledge and entrepreneurial skills, owing to the fact that many of our secondary and tertiary school leavers lack basic skills to economically and productively engage themselves. We believe this intervention program will help create a better future for our children; a future of self-reliance, responsibility and adaptability to national and global environment.

Creative Holiday for Societal Development Initiative recognizes creative thinking, critical thinking, and problem solving as essential skills required for the development of any society in the 21st century; and that teaching these practical skills have become a major challenge of the education system in most African countries (including Nigeria) because the culture and leadership have not yet recognized the positive impact of such skills on national development, which is why such skills are not always embedded in the schools’ curriculum. Therefore, Creative Holiday seeks to promote societal development by empowering the African child with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Skills, Creative Arts Skills and Life Adaptation Skills; which forms part of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

We believe in investing in a future where most of our children should be problem solvers and job providers rather than being job seekers and problems to the society.
